    How it works

Each parent passes one copy of every gene to the foal. The calculator combines both parents gene by gene and adds up the results.

When a result is not known, each possible genotype is weighed equally. DNA results remove that guesswork and give the truest odds.

    A few names

In the Rocky Mountain Horse, Silver Black is often called Chocolate. Elsewhere it is known as Silver Dapple.

For a horse called brown, choose Bay. For a gray horse, choose the color it was born and select Gray.
