MEET THE STALLIONS
THE HORSES TELL the story.
Protectors of the next generation.
MEET HANK
SOME HORSES TAKE YOUR breath away
Every once in a while, one makes you stop and watch in awe.
Some stay with you long after you have walked away.
Hank has always been that horse for us.
The first time we met him, he was two years old.
We knew.
It didn’t take long to realize there was more to Hank than the first impression.
He is playful. The kind of horse who loves racing the kids down the fence line and somehow always expects to win. Sometimes I’ll race him on my four-wheeler and ask him to slow down. He always does.
At a horse show one day, Hank was competing in the ring while we watched from the rail. We called out to him, and the moment he heard our voices, his head came up and his ears found us before his eyes did. He lit up — like our presence gave him something to run on.
He never forgets his people.
Hank is our 15.1 hand silver black roan Rocky Mountain Horse stallion.
Whether he is showing, racing the kids down the fence line, or quietly carrying someone down the trail beside mares in heat, Hank approaches every moment with the same quiet confidence.
It’s simply who he is.
And then one day, all of our goals for Hank were tested.
There was a moment we almost lost him.
Faced with one of the hardest decisions we have ever had to make, we chose to fight for the horse we already believed in.
And he is still fighting for us.
Even now, while recovering from a life-threatening injury, there is one eleven-year-old girl who can still make him forget he is hurting.
MEET T.R.
SOME HORSES STAY WITH you
Some horses stay in your mind long before they become yours.
I first saw TR, a direct son of Pence’s Blue Boy, and thought, “wow he's absolutely gorgeous.’
I couldn't buy him then.
Yet every now and then I'd catch myself, wondering about him.
Years later I learned he was available, so I made the trip.
I walked into a breeding barn in the middle of breeding season.
Mares in heat. Stallions calling.
TR’s stall door opened. He quietly stepped out and followed his handler.
Calm. Respectful. Confident.
There was plenty to admire on paper. too. GHS Taking Reservations is our silver black, homozygous for both black and silver. Standing there with him, it was clear that those weren’t the things that mattered most.
That kind of composure can't be manufactured.
We turned him loose into a small paddock. He lifted his head and carried himself with a quiet pride.
In that moment, I knew I wasn't leaving without him.
His owner had known TR since he was a baby.
Horse’s like that aren't easy to let go.
When he chose to let TR come to American Dream Horse, he wasn't simply selling a stallion.
He was trusting us to carry his story forward.
Our responsibility is to make sure it doesn't end with him.
MEET CAESAR
SOME HORSES ARE BORN knowing, who THEY are
Caesar’s name fits him.
He has never questioned who he is. King Caesar.
The rest of us are simply fortunate enough to live in his kingdom.
I bought him the day he was born and brought him home as a weanling.
Even then. he carried himself like royalty.
Caesar loves his people, especially the ones who serve him best.
Walk to the fence and he will be there before anyone else.
Talk to him and he will answer.
When the tractor comes through the pasture with hay, he walks alongside it, collecting his bounty while his peasant buddies trail behind.
He is convinced the rules were written for the low -born.
I’m fairly certain he’d ride on the bush hog If I’d let him.
Nothing rattles him. He’s fearless.
He’s simply too busy being Caesar.
A classic cream champagne Rocky Mountain Horse stallion, Caesar is a son of Acadiana’s Davinci and Smoking Hot Sassy. His pedigree offers exceptional bloodlines with a personality that’s impossible to forget.
He carries what this breed does best.
MEET MACHI
SOME HORSES ARE medicine
Machi means medicine man.
His spirit is medicine the kind that settles nerves.
The kind that softens a hard day.
The kind that reminds you why you started keeping horses in the first place.
I bought him before he was even born. He was already family before he was anything else. Machi is happiest living a quiet life.
At the gate.
Every morning he's already waiting.
Nickering softly because he knows breakfast is coming and because he's happy to see you.
Walk into the pasture and he'll fall into step beside you.
Not because he has to.
He wants to.
Pick up a brush and touch his face… And he'll close his eyes and melt into you.
He is home wherever he is.
GWF Bad Medicine is a grullo roan Rocky Mountain Horse stallion, a son of Dun Juan and an exceptional Union Blue mare, She’s Two Blue. His pedigree tells only part of his story.
The rest is something you have to meet.
THE HORSE OF A lifetime
