The Long View
Long before there was a registry, there was a horse. And every generation since has asked the same question, in its own way: how do we keep this going?
The Long View is a thirty-year look at the Rocky Mountain Horse , the registry, the trajectory, and the choices in front of us. It is a careful accounting of what has been carried forward, what will be lost in the next decade if nothing changes, and what can still be built if we change course.
It is not the whole picture. There has never been a census, and until there is, the true living population is still unknown. This is the most honest accounting I could build with the data we do have.
If you breed, if you own, if you used to, or if you hope to one day, this is for you. Read it slowly. Tell me what you see.
